    The Role:

     

    The Multimedia Production Specialist is responsible for coordinating and producing live and recorded multimedia resources for our members. The resources include sponsored webcasts, podcasts, online product demos, interactive graphics and videos on SHRM's website.  The position also actively contributes to the development and implementation of multimedia projects.  These key digital initiatives contribute to SHRM's member engagement and retention goals, and supports the sales teams ability to reach the department’s revenue goal and operating margin.

    Responsibilities

    Your Day:

     

    • Support the Manager with identifying potential programs by monitoring current Human Resources trends and conducting outbound calls to potential subject matter experts to secure programs for sponsored webcast series.
    • Serve as technical backup for the webcast series. This includes having  a thorough understanding of the platform(s) used to deliver webcasts and optimizing the platform(s) for webcast speakers, creating event-related web pages, integrating interactive elements and video; editing programs when needed and providing recording of program to sponsors.
    • Follow precise checklists for program preparation, including but not limited to adding upcoming events to the website, providing basic webcast technical support to viewers participating during the live viewing of program - which may include diagnosing and troubleshooting web browser and other internet-related issues.
    • Create, post and update webcast descriptions, video and audio clips and other media material on the organization’s website.  Coordinate program marketing with the e-newsletter production team.
    • Serve as video and audio technical support for digital programs, such as podcasts, product demonstrations, promotional videos.
    • Collaboration with Manager and the Sales team to incorporate video and other digital media into the organization’s website and social media platforms.
    • Coordinate the placement of webcast program descriptions and summaries within newsletters and website with the Editorial team by communicating upcoming programs and providing brief summaries of archived programs as appropriate and applicable.
    • Coordinate social media campaigns by posting program highlights to the organization’s social media accounts promoting webcast and multimedia programming.
    • Provide customer service to members by attending webcast programs, providing certification credit requirements, and ensuring a high degree of member satisfaction.

     

    Qualifications

    Must Haves:

     

    • High School Diploma or equivalent.   Bachelor degree in Communication, Journalism, Marketing, Business or a related field preferred.
    • 2 years of experience with webcast and/or multimedia production, 4 years of experience with webcast and/or multimedia preferred.
    • Experience in editorial programming and sound editoria
    • productionl judgment across a variety of subject matter areas
    • Experience dealing with clients with varying levels of digital knowledge, in an agency or similar environment
    • Familiarity with current editing hardware and software needed to produce high quality, creative programming
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel
    • Proficiency with webcast software such as On24, WebEx, Adobe Connect or similar 
    • Experience with digital workflow including the compression and delivery of projects in a digital medium
    • Web publishing skills using a Content Management program such as SharePoint or similar

Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and learn technical information.  Light lifting is required. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force to constantly move objects.
