    Your Role:

    As the Senior E-Commerce Business Development Specialist you will handle existing partner programs with providers of human resources related tools and publications featured in the SHRM Store marketplace, and helps assess potential partners of human resources legal and compliance, talent management and training products. You will be responsible for the entire life-cycle of partner implementation, including proposing and implementing business cases; working with vendors and partners across the organization to finalize contracts; collaborating with Marketing to identify and implement brand, ecommerce and promotional strategies that increase customer acquisition and retention; analyzing sales and campaign performance data.

    Responsibilities

    Your Day:

     

    Do you like to build business relationships? If so, one of your top responsibilities will be to engage with current and prospective vendors who are targeting human resources professionals.

    • You will evaluate the human resources vendor landscape for trends and potential product distribution opportunities.
    • We get a lot of inquiries from referrals, trade shows and inbound that you will need to research and qualify.
    • Do you thrive in Google Analytics? This is a key skill you will deploy as you collaborate with management on planning and forecasting revenue by analyzing data through GA to help us meet sales targets.
    • Work with the Director on store partner integrations. This includes the development of detailed product requirements and features, creation of co-branded elements such as collateral and logos with the assistance of creative services, and seamless marketplace access by guiding integration of the organization’s single sign-on functionality with the partner’s system.
    • Propose campaigns, promotions, and demand generation activities; collaborate with marketing and creative services to develop house ads and other promotions that target specific audiences.
    • Assist in handling various vendor partnerships. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to capturing data for review, submitting assets, and direct communication.
    • Monitor inventory levels through the analysis of weekly reports, review of sales trends through an online reporting tool, and product information available through the e-commerce platform.
    • Collaborate with the customer care team and customers to troubleshoot and resolve customer inquiries related to orders placed, and product login and questions.
    • Review store website to ensure product presentation conforms to e-commerce best-practices, and make content changes and uploads as necessary using the e-commerce platform’s catalog.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Must Haves:

     

    We'd love to hear from you if you have 5 years of experience managing e-commerce marketplaces and/or experience in digital business development; 3 years with a degree. Other requirements we have include:

    • Experience with email marketing, database marketing and list management
    • Experience reporting on and analyzing data using business intelligence tools, such as Google Analytics

    Preferred

    • Proven success growing revenue by forming and fostering e-commerce relationships, and by demonstrating marketing techniques

    Superior business development and contract negotiating skills is the top skill we require for this role. We would also like someone with business and technical acumen that can be the bridge between different functional groups. Other skills and abilities you should ideally have include:

    • Working knowledge of web development and enabling technologies
    • Proficiency with BI tools like Tableau or Domo
    • Self-motivated, curious, and ambitious
    • Strong verbal and written interpersonal skills, confident and articulate communicator to effectively convey messages to all partners
    • Standout colleague & strong collaboration skills
