    HR People + Strategy (HRPS) is the executive network for the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and serves the executive segment of human resource professionals through events, networking, and relevant resources.
    A major part of SHRM’s strategic plan is to engage the executive level of the HR profession. In this role, the incumbent will help shape and manage SHRM’s outreach to Chief Human Resource Officers (CHROs) through its executive network, HRPS. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and talented individual with superior interpersonal and relationship skills. The incumbent is expected to have superior diplomatic and facilitation ability and presence to interact with HR executives.

     

    The role of Manager, Member Engagement is responsible for CHRO Circle member recruitment and engagement through content, virtual communities and small events. The CHRO Circle is the CHRO-only premium segment of our membership. This effort requires working closely with the Manager, Membership and Marketing and includes relationship building to enhance recruitment, engagement, and retention of executive members. This role will plan, administer, and oversee engagement opportunities for CHROs such as executive roundtables, summits, content development, networking and speaking opportunities. This role requires relationship cultivation and problem solving to help identify solutions for HR leaders through program/content development and partnering with other departments across SHRM, its affiliates, and external organizations.

    Responsibilities

    Your Day:

    • Establish and ensure that strategic plan objectives and goals for executive engagement are achieved within the timelines and budget established for the program.
    • Drive business development and engagement efforts for CHRO Circle members and related stakeholders; this is a high-touch effort and includes sourcing, sales outreach efforts, relationship building and member satisfaction.
    • In collaboration with Manager, Membership and Marketing, implement marketing and communication plans for CHRO program attendance and recruitment and retention CHRO members and HR leaders.
    • Develop, manage, and facilitate effective delivery of programs and events designed exclusively for CHROs. Partner closely with other departments with operational responsibility for these programs to ensure successful events.
    • Drive engagement opportunities (ongoing and episodic) for CHRO engagement by developing ways for them to connect such as in-person and virtual networks, discussion groups, etc.
    • Develop and manage budgets and contracts associated with CHRO engagement programs and activities; drive revenue and meet established financial targets.
    • Manage the research agenda and execution in collaboration with SHRM Research department and other partners, as appropriate. Lead research, data gathering and analysis for CHRO engagement.
    • Serve as a resource and advisor to CHRO professional members and other HR leaders. Provide consultative approach to addressing concerns and interests.
    • Create innovative ways to engage CHRO members in newly established CHRO Circle.
    • Manage CHRO section of online community and drive engagement.
    • Prepare presentations and formal communications that may be directed to CHROs.
    • Maintain awareness and knowledge of global business trends that impact CHROs and their key stakeholders.
    • Connect HR leaders to resources (e.g., knowledge experts, articles, research) both within and outside SHRM/HRPS to be a trusted resource for this executive group.
    • Manage relationship with affiliate organizations and engage through common programs (such as webinars).
    • Support the overall goals of executive engagement through other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Must Haves:

    • Minimum 7 years of progressively responsible experience in a professional position required.
    • Practical experience in one or more of the following areas:
      -- Project management
      -- Human Resources
      -- Business development, marketing, or sales
      -- Meeting facilitation
    • Exceptional written communications, verbal and presentation skills. Experience in writing articles, newsletters, on-line web content and ability to use social media platforms.
    • Ability to lead and collaborate in team environment.
    • Self-starter with flexibility in managing ambiguity and uncertainty.
    • Effective decision-making skills.
    • Ability to multi-task and work independently and efficiently under deadlines.
    • Excellent, articulate, personable, and diplomatic customer service skills.
    • Possess a positive team-player attitude.
    • Proficient in MS office and various social media tools.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
    • Proficient in project management.
    • Acute attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
    • Proficient in contractor management and negotiating with outside stakeholders.
    • Ability to demonstrate polished executive presence.

    Let us know if you also have:

    • Experience with ERP, association, or data management software.
    • Previous experience planning meetings and events for executive level attendees.
