  • Overview

    The Role:


    The Product Marketing Senior Specialist will develop and implement strategic marketing plans to include, but not limited to, SHRM products and services that support exam applications, certification preparation and member retention for certification. This individual will develop and implement marketing campaigns to include segmentation, print direction and development, copywriting and messaging, email communications, digital marketing, web content and enhancement, brand management, reporting and metrics, and other advanced marketing activities. This individual requires a high-level of proficiency in testing, segmentation and analysis. This role will develop relationships with our partners in cross-organization groups, such as the Certification, Professional Development, Marketing Communications, Market Research, Member Care, Membership Services, Design and Production, and Technology divisions.


    Your Day:

    • Develop, implement and manage strategic and tactical marketing activities.
    • Collaborate with internal and external clients on strategic direction and vision for each campaign, and provide regular updates to marketing leadership on the plan progress.
    • Coordinate with technology and customer care teams to ensure success, as well as other internal partners, such as Certification, Communications and Member Relations.
    • Write copy for marketing communications in the appropriate voice and tone, to support the SHRM brand.
    • Establish creative direction and project manage all collateral and/or web campaigns with the appropriate department.
    • Write, create, launch and analyze all email campaigns.
    • Work with the Marketing Communications team on social media and digital strategy.
    • Develop strategy and coordinate implementation for high-level campaign testing on a variety of platforms including email, marketing automation, ecommerce and SHRM’s Association Management System. Use Google Analytics and other tools to make recommendations and suggestions.
    • Coordinate efforts that drive member retention as it relates to all products and services.
    • Stay current on emerging technology trends and make recommendations for adoption/implementation.
    • Develop and manage budget for each campaign.
    • Other duties as assigned.


    Must Haves:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communication, or a relevant field.
    • 5 years of experience in Marketing roles with Direct Response Marketing experience, in house or agency.
    • Experience with Direct Mail, Email Marketing, Google Analytics and/or email reporting.
    • Experience leading and working on cross-functional team projects and managing budgets.
    • Excellent presentation skills, decision-making skills and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
    • Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
    • Ability to build consensus, and strong team player.
    • Project management skills.
    • Working knowledge of copywriting.
    • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.

    • Adobe Suite, HTML and/or CSS.
    • SEM and SEO knowledge.
