  • Overview

    The Role:

     

    The Senior Specialist, Data Science and Attribution offers intelligence and insight to support SHRM’s various businesses. In this role, the individual is responsible for thoroughly understanding the organization's data processes and needs to provide accurate attribution and support to SHRM’s businesses.

    Responsibilities

    Your Day:

    • Develops the marketing attribution framework and informs platform decisions.
    • Improve marketing campaign performance – especially as it relates to marketing attribution.
    • Support a fact-based culture to drive decision making and investments.
    • Analyze large data sets from multiple sources to identify trends, root causes and business improvement opportunities, and visualize those findings using traditional and digital analytics tools.
    • Provide enterprise level analytics related to vast quantities of data, including disparate data.
    • Enhance data collection procedures to support and improve the validity of SHRM’s reporting.
    • Create tools and visualizations – support dashboards and visualizations for business units.
    • Support business units in understanding and validating results; help tell the data story by extracting actionable insights from complex data.
    • Research new modeling algorithms, languages, packages, and statistical tools to enhance the overall ability of SHRM to make its data actionable.
    • Other duties and projects as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Must Haves:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business or Marketing.
    • 3 years of experience as a Data Scientist/Data Analyst working on large, complex data sets.
    • Experience with marketing attribution platforms and data analysis.
    • Experience functioning in a highly matrixed organization.
    • Strong data analysis skills and mathematical statistical tool proficiency.
    • High attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
    • Professional integrity necessary to maintain confidentiality.
    • Strong planning skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Excellent verbal, and written communication skills.
    • Ability to complete assigned duties within critical deadlines.
    • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
    • Proficiency with modern reporting platforms and tools.
    • Ability to grasp complex platform concepts and business models, in a digital context.

    Let us know if you also have:

    • Master’s degree in Data Science or related field.
    • Notable accomplishments in data storytelling or marketing attribution.
    • Ability to derive and present compelling stories based on data and metrics.
    • Ability to build professional relationships across reporting lines

Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and learn technical information.
