    The Multimedia Production Specialist is responsible for coordinating and producing live and recorded webcasts and podcast programs for SHRM members. The position also actively contributes to the development and implementation of new webcast and podcast initiatives. This programming contributes to SHRM's member engagement and retention goals and supports the sales teams ability to generate revenue.

    Responsibilities

    Your Day:

    • Support the Manager with identifying potential programs by monitoring current Human Resources trends and identifying, interviewing and recommending potential subject matter experts.
    • Serve as technical support for the webcast series. This includes having a thorough understanding of the platform(s) used to deliver webcasts and optimizing the platform(s) for webcast speakers, creating event-related web pages, integrating interactive elements and video; editing programs when needed; and providing recording of program to sponsors.
    • Follow precise checklists for program preparation, including but not limited to adding upcoming events to the website, providing basic webcast technical support to viewers participating during the live viewing of program - which may include diagnosing and troubleshooting web browser and other internet-related issues.
    • Create, post and update webcast descriptions, video and audio clips and other media material on the organization’s website. Coordinate program marketing with the e-newsletter production team.
    • Serve as video and audio technical support for digital programs, such as podcasts, product demonstrations, promotional videos.
    • Coordinate the placement of webcast program descriptions and summaries within newsletters and website with the Editorial team by communicating upcoming programs and providing brief summaries of archived programs as appropriate and applicable.
    • Record, edit and post SHRM podcasts. The Specialist will also play a key role in identifying podcast series topics and producing pilot programs.
    • Provide customer service to members by attending webcast programs, providing certification credit requirements, and ensuring a high degree of member satisfaction.
    • Coordinate social media campaigns by posting program highlights to the organization’s social media accounts promoting webcast and multimedia programming.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Must Haves:

    • College degree or equivalent, with degree in communication, journalism, marketing, business or another relevant field.
    • 3+ years of experience with webcast and/or multimedia production.
    • 3+ years of experience in editorial programming and sound editorial judgment across a variety of subject matter areas.
    • Experience dealing with clients with varying levels of digital knowledge, in an agency or similar environment.
    • Familiarity with current editing hardware and software needed to produce high quality, creative programming.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
    • Proficiency with webcast software such as On24, WebEx, Adobe Connect or similar.
    • Experience with digital workflow including the compression and delivery of projects in a digital medium.
    • Web publishing skills using a Content Management program such as SharePoint or similar.

    Let us know if you also have:

    • 4+ years of experience with webcast and/or multimedia production.
    • Business-related experience using social media such as LinkedIn and Twitter for promotions.
    • Experience managing projects.
    • Familiarity with human resource or business management a plus.
    • Experience working on editorial products as a writer, editor or production specialist.

    Physical Demands

     

    Regularly required to sit; talk and hear, use hands to type, file, handle or feel. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. Occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Visual acuity to use a keyboard, prepare and analyze data and figures; transcribing, viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading. May require ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; or the ability to stand, walk, lift, carry and move light to medium weight. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and learn technical information. Light lifting is required. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force to constantly move objects.
