The Creative Services unit produces award-winning print and online content, information services and collateral that informs, educates, and engages the professional development and knowledge-base of members, as well as Human Resource and business professionals worldwide who follow and care about issues important to human capital management.
The Manager, Creative Services supports the global organization through the development and production of designs that serve to support SHRM’s vision, mission and purpose across digital and print. The Manager takes marketing strategies and verbal content and translates it into a strong visual storytelling. The role works collaboratively with marketing, communications and product groups with responsibilities split into three main areas:
- art direction (people management)
- design & production (daily design tasks)
- project management (developing workflow process/allocating resources)
The Events department is responsible for developing and implementing the strategy for conferences, meetings, and expositions in the U.S. The team handles speaker selection, event programming, innovation, meeting planning, exhibit and sponsorship sales, and logistics. The team contributes to developing the strategy for virtual conferences and content capture as well as site selection and logistics support for seminars, and other meetings and events.
The Director, Event Management and Logistics leads the planning, management and execution of SHRM’s Annual Conference, specialty conferences and affiliate conferences, as well as key SHRM internal events. The Director serves as a key collaborator to the strategic development and design for all events. In conjunction with Conference Programming and Exhibit Sales/Sponsorship teams, the Director provides leadership to the department and contributes to a culture of innovation by overseeing high value event experiences, while maintaining strong financial and event implementation practices in order to achieve or exceed all operational and financial goals.
The Education Programs Department supports SHRM’s mission and strategic goals through the development and delivery of professional development programs to a global and domestic audience. This department is focused on building and sustaining educational partnerships with human resource professionals by providing curricular offerings to individuals and corporate members across professional experience levels, business sectors, and HR competencies. To enhance relationships with corporate clients, this department also provides discounts and opportunities for organizations to increase their total professional development value.
The Instructional Designer supports the development and delivery of SHRM’s eLearning and Seminar product portfolio directed to both organizations and human resource professionals. These products help human resource professionals develop their skills, competencies, and in turn, support the advancement of the HR profession. In this capacity, the Designer applies proven instructional design methodologies to analyze, design, develop, customize, and maintain eLearning programs and Seminars, in alignment with organizational goals, strategies, and competencies.
The Technology Analysis team is within SHRM's Technology Organization. Primary objective of the department is to document, review, analyze, evaluate, and support SHRM business needs and provide comprehensive business solutions enabled via technology. The team is responsible for ensuring that technical solutions support SHRM’s strategic initiatives.
The Senior Salesforce Administrator supports evolving priorities within the Customer Service, Sales and Operations teams in a hands-on role that facilitates automation, process improvement and enablement initiatives for customers and users. The Senior Administrator works closely with departmental leads and partners to administer the system within business requirements and creates systems that organize, scale and measure data effectively within our organization.

The Integrated Communications Senior Specialist:
-Develops and executes strategic road maps focused around implementation of message-driven campaigns to increase brand awareness and audience action in support of SHRM’s business strategy,
-Amplifies SHRM’s messaging in collaboration with stakeholders across the enterprise to drive improvement in our business capabilities, effectiveness, efficiency and consistency
-Actively brings SHRM’s strategy to life across channels ensuring consistency of message in support of organizational goals with marketing, editorial, creative services, the SHRM Foundation, membership and more.
The Communications Department is responsible for informing all of SHRM’s audiences on SHRM’s thought leadership, mission and activities in a positive, consistent and credible manner. It is also responsible for publicly protecting and defending SHRM’s reputation and brand. Typically, this means working directly with news organizations and journalists responsible for producing the news and features in mass media and utilizing social media to exchange information about SHRM directly with the press, key audiences and influencers. It encompasses Brand, Media Relations, Social Media Engagement and Corporate Communications. The collective team engages in a variety of work related to managing SHRM’s reputation and brand image among SHRM’s members as well as elevating the reputation to business leaders and policy makers on a broader, global scale.
Under the direction of the Director, Corporate Communications, collaborates in telling the stories of a growing and innovative global professional society by participating in the day-to-day operation of the Media Affairs team. Contributes to public relations initiatives and supports the goals and business objectives of the association and the Public Affairs Department.
SHRM Certification, part of the Knowledge Development and Certification division, provides gold standard, next-generation credentials in the field of human resources. These credentials provide HR professionals the opportunity to demonstrate their mastery of the core competencies needed to ensure success in today’s demanding business environment. Members of the Certification team research, develop, manage, validate and improve the certification exams and certification program.
The Certification Research Analyst handles a wide variety of research and validation activities associated with the SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP certifications. The Analyst focusses on working with large data sets to review, synthesize, analyze and report findings from these data to support the needs of the certification program and other departments/divisions within SHRM that benefit from these data. The Analyst also communicates results via reports, marketing collateral, press-related communications as needed and contributing to development of new programs (e.g., professional development programs), products and services resulting from and relating to the data. Consequently, cross-organizational collaboration plays a large role in this position.

The Senior Specialist, eLearning Systems Administrator contributes to the delivery of SHRM’s eLearning products and the online portion of SHRM Specialty Credentials. The SHRM eLearning product portfolio includes products that serve individuals and corporate clients. These self-paced and blended learning products help HR professionals develop their professional skills, knowledge, and competencies, in turn, supporting the advancement of the HR profession. In this capacity, the Senior Specialist, eLearning Systems Administrator serves as the primary administrator for the LMS set-up, customization and functionality, coordinates with internal and external partners on product set-up and roll-out, contributes to corporate eLearning sales by creating custom catalogs and learning plans, and is supporting the eLearning Help Desk. The Senior Specialist supports SHRM’s Manager of eLearning to meet product revenue targets by effectively managing the growing portfolio of products in the LMS, while serving our customers to ensure the highest level of customer support and satisfaction with SHRM Education products and programs. Additionally, the Senior Specialist is an important partner in supporting the corporate clients and B2B service delivery.
The Technology Infrastructure department is responsible for the ongoing IT Operations of SHRM and its affiliates. This includes the design, implementation, and ongoing support of all hardware and software infrastructure (both desktop and server), networking (wired and wireless), enterprise and contact center telephony, applications (on premise and hosted), for all SHRM technology initiatives. The department is also responsible for SHRM IT Security and all related components including network security, remote access VPN, email security, PCI compliance, et al. The department is also responsible for IT Service Desk, including the provisioning and administration of SHRM-issued computing devices, access to applications and tools used by SHRM Staff on a daily basis, and generalized IT Support services for SHRM Staff.
The Network Security Engineer is responsible for implementing, supporting, and maintaining all aspects of SHRM’s telecommunications, network, and IT Security infrastructure. The engineer is a key resource within the Network & System Operations team, ensuring systems security, integrity, and efficiency while maintaining high availability and uptime for all essential SHRM application resources. This role includes hands-on support in developing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all new and existing network hardware, software, and communication links, as well as essential IT Security related tools and applications. The engineer maintains a strong focus on operational excellence, automation, continuous improvement, and leveraging best practices within the Network and IT Security environments.

SHRM's Global Enterprise Sales creates and manages new and existing partnerships to advance SHRM's global enterprise strategy, primarily revenue-generation with multinational enterprises, industry associations, universities and vendors; expansion and servicing of international membership outside the US; and relationship management with other national, regional and worldwide HR associations, including the World Federation of People Management and its constituent regional confederations and local members.
The Enterprise Sales Director establishes and grows business relationships with potential Fortune 500, US partners (i.e., key business leaders and HR executives in multinational corporations [MNCs] and large national companies [LNCs] across multiple global regions; accredited universities with strong executive education programs; HR associations; and training companies). This role leverages relationships to gain a thorough understanding of key global human capital challenges of HR practitioners and identify SHRM products and services that aid business leaders in addressing their organizations’ challenges with an emphasis on SHRM education, training and certification programs. The Director also develops winning proposals that meet the challenges of corporations and grow SHRM’s US business. Works to evaluate current US business strategy and continuously update for potential growth.
With core focus on promotion of information, products and services that drive member involvement and increase lifetime value, the Product Marketing Manager will create and oversee the marketing strategy for all SHRM Conferences, Education Programs, Credentials and SHRM Store products. This includes the development and management of the strategic marketing plans; management of the marketing budgets; implementation and analysis of each marketing campaign; management of day-to-day tactical functions of marketing and other related programs, including a team of marketing Specialists, that support the goals and objectives of SHRM. The manager will design, implement, and manage marketing plans across numerous product lines, including SHRM Conferences, Education Programs, Credentials and SHRM Store.
The SHRM Foundation is a values-based charity organization whose mission is to champion workforce and workplace transformation. It provides research-based solutions for challenging inclusion issues facing current and potential employees, scholarships to educate and develop HR professionals and opportunities for HR professionals to make a difference in their local communities. The SHRM Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit affiliate of the Society for Human Resource Management.
The Senior Specialist, Development’s primary focus is to manage activities related to SHRM Foundation’s annual campaign, contribute to the overall success of attaining SHRM Foundation’s revenue goals, leading development’s administrative functions and collaborating with SHRM Foundation team members to execute critical events and activities that engage donors and other development stakeholders. The Senior Specialist is assigned specific fundraising revenue goals, contribute in the development of a strategic course of action designed to execute the tactical elements of SHRM Foundation’s annual campaign, provide relationship management support and assistance to ensure timely responses to inquiries throughout the annual campaign, including liaise with internal and external partners. The Senior Specialist, Development ensures the optimization of processes, systems and infrastructure essential in order to successfully update and maintain various systems (Salesforce, etc.) to aid in tracking project deadlines, communications with SHRM Foundation staff and donors. The Senior Specialist also assists in prospect research and building a repository of potential donors for key programs and support activities associated with proposal development, grant management and reporting.
