The Senior Specialist, Creative Services is responsible for creating online, video and print collateral, including brochures, research reports, publications, flat and interactive graphics, as well as print and digital advertisements. Reporting to the Director, Creative Services, the Senior Specialist is responsible for managing projects through the full execution cycle, guiding the team to inspiring, modern, bold creative product that is consistent with SHRM brand guidelines. The Senior Specialist is responsible for providing regular constructive feedback of staff assignments, and ensures the team stays current in digital trends, tools and competencies by offering them regular mentoring and professional development opportunities. The Senior Creative Specialist is a player/coach and, as needs arise, acts as design lead for various print and digital projects. Together with the Director, Creative Services, the Senior Specialist maintains and nurtures collaborative and responsive stakeholder relationships that are responsive to business objectives.

The department contributes to SHRM’s overarching thought leadership mission to advance the HR profession (and professional) by providing evidence-based insights, recommendations, and innovations at the intersection of people and work.
The Specialist, Strategic Research Initiatives contributes to SHRM’s recognition as a thought leader in the Human Resources industry by conducting research to support the organization’s key strategic initiatives. These Human Resources strategic initiatives include but are not limited to, executive engagement, research on careers in support of the certification program, the development of talent analytics tools for the profession, and other programs. This role contributes to the execution of programs of research and core research activities for the progression of the HR profession and the workplace overall.

Primary objective of the department is to ensure that SHRM's digital media provides an innovative and compelling user experience while reflecting the brand promise at all touch points with the help of flexible and cost-effective technology solutions. The technology solutions and tools encompass all of SHRM's online solutions including Digital Media, Interactive Design, eCommerce, DataWarehouse, Business Intelligence tools etc.
The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for designing and developing integration solutions and applications, securing and managing Application Programing Interfaces, and partnering with the data and architecture teams in laying out the strategic direction for services and APIs. The primary focus would be to create these solutions to integrate with our Enterprise Resource Planning platform (NetSuite) to enhance the overall functionality of the platform. The Senior Software Engineer also acts as a technical resource for junior engineers and leads certain projects.

Members of this team work collaboratively to generate member tools based in data and evidence of effective practice. The Research team serves to generate all forms of content for SHRM public affairs, media affairs, and advocacy efforts.
The Director of Workforce Research leads the strategy, core research activities and the team focused on identifying the future strategic initiatives of the organization to further and optimize SHRM’s recognition as a thought leader in the workplace. The Director is responsible for the design, management and execution of the organization’s research, analysis and programs in the fields of workplace policy, economic policy, and human capital. The Director serves as the leader for applied workplace policy analysis and contributes to charting the total market research strategy that creates insights for organizations and HR professionals to better serve the workforce and society.

The Educational Programs Department supports SHRM’s mission and strategic goals through the development and delivery of professional development programs to a global and domestic audience. This department is focused on building and sustaining educational partnerships with human resource and business professionals by providing curricular offerings to individuals and corporate entities across professional experience levels, business sectors and HR competencies.
The Education Programs Specialist serves as an integral member of the SHRM Educational Programs team. The Education Programs Specialist works closely with the Manager, Education Programs to implement the overall educational programs strategy with the goal of delivering the highest caliber of service and programming to SHRM members and the greater business community. In addition, this position will deliver the required understanding and front-line management for all SHRM educational programs (virtual, in-person and blended).

The Events department is responsible for developing and implementing the strategy for conferences, meetings, and expositions in the U.S. The team handles speaker selection, event programming, innovation, meeting planning, exhibit and sponshorship sales, and logistics. The team contributes to developing the strategy for virtual conferences and content capture as well as site selection and logistics support for seminars, and other meetings and events.
The Vice President, Events & Conferences works collaboratively with other SHRM senior management to drive our business strategy and activate SHRM’s mission through in-person and virtual events. The Vice President fosters innovation and creativity, building immersive and personalized experiences for all participants, while applying strong business and project management capabilities to meet quality, schedule and budget expectations. This position leads a culture of member/customer-centricity, accountability, agility and revenue growth.

Provide effective leadership to a high performing team to achieve sales goals, deliver exceptional customer service, and execute well-produced logistics and operations. The Director of Exhibits & Sponsorships will represent SHRM at industry events to build brand awareness and cultivate and maintain relationships with clients. The Audio/Video Production Specialist assists with the creation, editing and distribution of SHRM's audio/video content. The position executes SHRM's audio/video offerings by creating compelling content that serves and engages the SHRM community, meets the needs of the organization and positions SHRM as a thought leader. The specialist works closely with management to partner with all stakeholder groups to deliver quality content.

HR Knowledge Advisors offer guidance, suggestions and real life personal/professional experiences in response to questions. The Knowledge Department creates content, such as Express Requests, responds to media requests, conducts exam reviews, implements marketing efforts etc.
The HR Knowledge Center Operations Manager develops and serves the HR professional by managing the day-to-day workings of the HR Knowledge Center, including daily scheduling of HR Knowledge Advisors, workforce management and planning, and reporting. The HR Knowledge Center Operations Manager advances and leads the HR profession by ensuring that HR Knowledge Advisors have opportunities for professional development, training and content creation.

In other instances, it means utilizes social media to exchange information about SHRM directly with the press, key audiences and influencers. The Communication Department encompasses Brand, Media Relations, Social Media Engagement, Corporate Communications and works closely with Government Affairs. The collective team engages in a variety of work related to managing SHRM’s reputation and brand image among SHRM’s members as well as elevating the reputation to business leaders and policy makers on a broader, global scale.

This includes shaping the messaging around advocacy issues, working with our media team, partnering with influencers and engaging other key stakeholder groups on key issues.
The Sr. Specialist translates complex issues to a broad and diverse set of audiences across members, business elites, policy makers, media and more. This role works closely with the government affairs experts to understand and craft communications around SHRM’s positions of key issues at all the intersection of employers, employees and the economy.

The Senior Specialist leads in ideation and creative concepting with the marketing, events, brand, communications and policy teams on activations, events, campaigns and stunts. Using typography, iconography, data, and space, the designer will create visually engaging, consistent and functional brand experiences from the ground up in support of events and public relations campaigns, juggling multiple projects at any given time while ensuring all agreed-upon deadlines are met.

As a member of the communications team, the specialist of social engagement is responsible for managing SHRM social media accounts across multiple social platforms, including SHRM’s member community, experimenting with new forms of social engagement and measuring the success of both organic and paid social outreach. This role also creates and curates digital communities where meaningful conversations around employees, employers and the economy can thrive.
