The Communication Department is responsible for informing all of SHRM’s audiences on SHRM’s thought leadership, mission and activities in a positive, consistent and credible manner. The Communication Department is also responsible for publicly protecting and defending SHRM’s reputation and brand. Typically, this means working directly with news organizations and journalists responsible for producing the news and features in mass media. In other instances, it means utilizes social media to exchange information about SHRM directly with the press, key audiences and influencers. The Communication Department encompasses Brand, Media Relations, Social Media Engagement and Corporate Communications. The collective team engages in a variety of work related to managing SHRM’s reputation and brand image among SHRM’s members as well as elevating the reputation to business leaders and policy makers on a broader, global scale.   The Specialist, Brand and Public Relations is a core member of the SHRM Brand and Communication team with responsibilities to support national TV commercials, brand activations, PR campaigns and earned media to amplify SHRM’s thought leadership and reputation. This is a unique hybrid role spanning across the strategic communications function to promote the brand through messaging, creative storytelling and public relations with a demonstrated understanding of SHRM’s audience and strategic vision.     The Specialist, Brand and PR partners on strategic planning and executes tactics driving the overall brand strategy from brand activations, to messaging, to project management.  Activities may include but not limited to integrated marketing programs, commercial programs, SHRM events, communications/brand campaigns and executive visibility.

The SHRM eLearning product portfolio includes products that serve individuals and corporate clients. These self-paced and blended learning products help HR professionals develop their professional skills, knowledge, and competencies, in turn, supporting the advancement of the HR profession. In this capacity, the LMS Administrator serves as the primary administrator for the LMS set-up, customization and functionality, coordinates with internal and external partners on product set-up and roll-out, contributes to corporate eLearning sales by creating custom catalogs and learning plans, and is supporting the eLearning Help Desk. The LMS Administrator supports SHRM’s Manager of eLearning to meet product revenue targets by effectively managing the growing portfolio of products in the LMS, while serving our customers to ensure the highest level of customer support and satisfaction with SHRM Education products and programs. Additionally, the LMS Administrator is an important partner in supporting the corporate clients and B2B service delivery.

The Membership Department is responsible for the active support of SHRM Initiatives, Programs and Activities through our state, chapter and volunteers and direct interactions with members and students. The team serves as the organizational co-lead for overall member retention and acquisition goals, including strategies to support member engagement It is accountable for the overall health and growth of the state council and chapter delivery channel for SHRM and the direct outreach to the HR profession and community.    The Membership Engagement Associate (MEA) provides direction and support to establish, maintain, and strengthen relationships with SHRM volunteer leaders, members, chapters, state councils, students, and other affiliates to achieve SHRM’s strategy and objectives regarding membership. The MEA serves as a resource to SHRM volunteer leaders, members, chapters, state councils, students, and other affiliates.   The MEA serves a key role in guiding the membership division in the overall chapter, state council, and volunteer leader engagement and compliance, and is one of the primary contacts of SHRM to members, students, and volunteers. The MEA has a presence at national, regional, and local meetings and conferences as well as presents the SHRM message to members and potential members.  The position certifies affiliate compliance with governance structure, audits, and multi-million-dollar financial support payments.  The MEA maximizes efficiencies to ensure strong and vibrant professional, student chapters, and state councils, and acts as key enabler for membership.

SHRM's Digital Experience and Insights department is responsible for aligning the technology, practice, and process for analysis and presentation of information to drive decision making. Functioning across the organization, we focus on technology enablement, maintaining SHRM's marketing technology stack and supporting users throughout the business. The manager is accountable for measuring traditional customer analytics such as Lifetime Value, Cost per Acquisition and Renewal, and member buying patterns. In partnership with the Senior Specialist, Data Science and Attribution this role is also responsible for establishing a marketing attribution framework for SHRM and supporting analytics needs for customers across SHRM’s business units.

The SHRM Foundation is the philanthropic, 501(c)(3) nonprofit affiliate of SHRM.  The SHRM Foundation inspires and empowers HR professionals to unlock human potential and lead social change in the workplace and beyond.  Its purpose is to elevate and empower HR as a social force and its mission is to mobilize the power of HR and the generosity of donors to lead positive social change impacting work, workers and the workplace. The Engagement & Philanthropy department is responsible for generating revenue for SHRM Foundation programs and initiatives through fundraising and cultivating and stewarding meaningful partnerships.  A large component of the department involves fostering the critical relationship with SHRM Chapters and State Councils, who are significant supporters and partners of the SHRM Foundation.    The Senior Specialist, Engagement and Philanthropy’s primary focus is to serve as a special liaison to SHRM Chapters and Councils.  The role will determine and implement best practices in assisting Chapters and Councils in their fundraising activities.  The Senior Specialist will contribute to the overall success of attaining SHRM Foundation’s revenue goals, leading Engagement and Philanthropy’s administrative functions and collaborating with SHRM Foundation team members to execute critical events and activities that engage donors and other development stakeholders.    The Senior Specialist will provide relationship management support and assistance to ensure timely responses to inquiries from Chapters and Councils and other internal and external partners.  The Senior Specialist will ensure the optimization of SHRM Foundation’s processes, systems and infrastructure in order to successfully update and maintain various systems (Netsuite, Giving Reports, Batch Reports, Salesforce (to be implemented), etc.) to aid in tracking project deadlines, communications with SHRM and SHRM Foundation staff, chapters and councils, partners and donors and develop a manual of these processes and systems for the Engagement and Philanthropy department.  The Senior Specialist also assists in prospect research and building a repository of potential donors for key programs and support activities associated with proposal development, grant management and reporting.

This role will be the strategist for a wide variety of integrated communication campaigns. The role will change the world of work by engaging donors, influencers and audiences across global media, events and content platforms for both internal and external audiences.    The role will manage all strategic messaging throughout SHRM Foundation and lead the content creation campaigns and assets. S/he is responsible for positively impacting donor engagement and stakeholder experience by leading the delivery of consistent, transparent, and relevant campaigns. The role will measure the impact of these PR campaigns and individual pieces of content in collaboration with the fundraising and programmatic teams.
